How is this different from a polygraph exam?

Polygraphs measure physiological responses that may or may not be symptoms of deception, whereas statement analysis examines a person’s actual words. Also, it does not require the subject's presence, consent, or participation.

How long does a statement need to be?

Generally, the longer the statement, the more data points that are available for analysis. However, even brief statements-sometimes just a few sentences-can reveal important intelligence. Ideally, free-narrative statements, where the person writes in their own words without prompting, provide the richest analysis.

Do you need to interview the person yourself?

No, I analyze statements that have already been provided. However, based on my analysis, I can provide recommendations for follow-up questions and questioning strategies if future interviews, interrogations, depositions, Examinations Under Oath, or trial are planned.

It's important to note that statement analysis identifies indicators of deception and areas of concern - it's one piece of evidence to consider alongside other investigative findings, case facts, evidence, and contextual details. No single method is 100% accurate in all cases, which is why I provide detailed explanations of my findings and recommendations rather than simple "truth/lie" conclusions.

My written reports will primarily inform your legal strategy, the direction of your investigation, and assist in case preparation. If you need expert witness testimony, I can provide that service as well, contingent on court qualification and admissibility rules in your jurisdiction.

The total cost depends on the length, complexity of the statement(s), and urgency. During your free consultation, I can provide an estimate based on your specific needs.  A $450 retainer is required after the initial consultation.
